Prototype A, nicknamed Galileo, was completed on the night of 7/25/2025.

The prototype is made of a burgundy red cardstock with white elastics.

The prototype was made with A6 dimensions, although I think the cardstock I have can be used to make an A5 size, which I can better test as my notebooks are A5 sized.

It measures 270mm wide and 158mm tall. This is split into a central spine measuring 50mm by 158mm, surrounded by 2 covers, each measuring 110mm by 158mm. The sizing provides a 5mm overhand on all sides, as well as 4 equally sized elastics, rather than 2 differently sized elastics. The corners are rounded to a 5mm radius.

The prototype has 4 elastic holes on the top and bottom of the spine. The center of these holes is located 5mm from the top/bottom edge. The outermost holes are 1cm from the edge of the spine, and all grommets are 1cm from each other.

The closing elastic is located 79mm from the top and bottom edges, and 135mm from the sides, or 25mm from the edge of the spine.
